Another thing that sophisticated technologists believe about their use of email with more confidence than warranted: they will remember and routinely employ the person+whatever@example.com whatever thing they used to sign up for your service when attempting to sign in.

(I have routinely hand-coded, and this feels silly to hand-code versus getting from a library, “If someone tries to log in as person@example.com and we have don’t have that but do have person+something@example.com optimistically try the password there as well before erroring.”)

The most common errors I see are user@host with no TLD, and user@host.country which needed s/\./.co./.

You both probably know this, but you can use e.g.
@Mail_Gun's API to check if the email is valid (e.g. checks that it has MX records set up to receive email), and if invalid it gives you a "did you mean" suggestion - 1 more reply

That's also how you get "tikhon@jelv.is is not a valid email". *cough* Chase *cough*

We see it all the time. People pissed they didn't get any order confirmation or tracking and it's just they typed their email wrong.pic.twitter.com/M8emuZYa0A

I own http://ve.ie . Many people mistake it for
@live.ie (Microsoft). I get Instagram notifications, job applications, and more.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

People just need to learn to type better. The way that so many communicate today is an outrage of gargantuan proportions. I say bring back the ruler for smacking fingers in class!
