Is there a way for one to track what percentage of unqiue slack equity is traded (today and over next few weeks)?

Functionally no, but the most interesting blocks are going to be trackable ~once if you very carefully look at concentrated holdings in their 10-Ks and similar. (Page 148ish in S-1.)

People’s intuitions of how float management works for publicly listed stocks are not great and, in particular, the float may not necessarily represent stock which has been sold from long-term holders in the way that people generally conceive of that as happening.

For example, an employee with, pick a number, 10k shares of stock happily sitting in their brokerage account may be contributing 10k shares to the float without being consciously aware of this. (Hopefully they’re at a broker that pays them for the privilege.)

Just curious - what exactly is float? Is this just equity sitting in brokerage accounts that is technically being made available on the market?

The float of a security is the circulating supply of it. Most equity in a company does not circulate. However: securities lending is a thing, and many shares which have stable, committed ownership can nevertheless be lent out (and thus impact the float and relative supply/etc).
