I wish that companies and/or their CMSes were sophisticated enough to categorize their customers as email people or phone people and make offers accordingly, because there are companies that I love which give me lots of phone person offers and, reader, I am not a phone person.

I get this from a lot of recruiters. I have an email template that tells them that until they've given me some basic information about the job (the job posting including company), there's just no way I'm going to get on the phone with them. It saves me a lot of useless calls.

Surely even telephone people understand that “conversation foreplay” is suboptimal compared to email - there is an expectation of connection which disturbs the flow of my mind (I suspect others as well)
