Which holds for all forms of insurance in the USA, e.g. health, income, etc. Much fear, much uncertainties, much doubt—all generally unnecessary.

Insurance agents blow my mind. In the UK we just have websites where you tell them about the relevant details and they go pull quotes from every insurer in the country and order them by price.

Typical time to switch your home insurance over here is < 30 minutes, can be done from bed, and requires basically zero mental effort for most people.
