It’s striking how much better spent time listening to podcasts is relative to time spent on Youtube. I wonder whether that’s a function of my interests, YouTube’s recommendation algorithm, the video form factor, etc.

Actually I take that back; I bet true ground state is that there exist at least 100 hours of podcast for each hour of video for the set of people/topics which are most relevant to my interests.

There is no particular reason to assume people who are inclined to communicate on X given interest will be evenly distributed across Y given formats.
