It’s striking how much better spent time listening to podcasts is relative to time spent on Youtube. I wonder whether that’s a function of my interests, YouTube’s recommendation algorithm, the video form factor, etc.

Podcasts are the closest thing there is to being a fly on the wall at someone else’s business, because people who actually know what is going on will go into it in substantial depth, far less guarded or filtered than they would be in e.g. a media interview.

Got a bunch of them and increasingly I’m outsourcing my discovery to people who are good guests, on the theory that they’re in demand, say yes to higher quality shows, and are probably worth listening to regardless of show quality.
