One of my remote work hacks: when a team I did work with has a celebratory boba tea or whatever at HQ, I buy one of the same thing here in Tokyo and send them all a photo. It helps both side engage in the shared ritual, and also gives coworkers a little glimpse into life here.

"Oh don't go to too much trouble to find tacos in Tokyo." "We've got tacos, don't worry. TexMex, Mexico City street style, Japanese original, South California Korean taco fusion, etc."

When the truck selling that last one rolled up to Ogaki, which does *not* normally match Tokyo on depth of the food library, my brain nearly exploded. The proprietor spent a year in L.A. and said "Oh people at home would LOVE this."

Japan sounds like it's got all the best celebratory food options covered. And after that meeting with you and @patrickc Stripe's remote team sounds very appealing! 🌮🍣

Hmmm, I’ve found tacos here to be...mediocre. Perhaps it’s being from Texas (texmex, mexmex and other available) or perhaps just not finding the right location. Open to suggestions.

Can recommend desperados in Shin-sakae, Nagoya as being amazing Tex-mex.
