One of our first bad reviews came from a Lambda School student who called us a cult because we were bought into the “completely unrealistic” goal of “creating thousands of future Lambda School millionaires.” Now that doesn’t even feel ambitious. Can we do that in a year?

I think people really don’t understand what millionaires are like. The USA has over 11,000,000 millionaires, lots of them boring-looking dentists and accountants and so on who save money and live frugally. +2,000 via Lambda seems v conservative

The seminal text on this is Millionaire Next Door. It's sort of new-ish in the US economy for there to be as many high-wage people as there are, particularly in software development. The traditional path was middle class income and prudent spending, with remainder in RE/stock.

"Why not?" Because while there was interesting sociological work the book doesn't have a comparative advantage over Ramit's I Will Teach You To Be Rich for people working in the tech industry, and you *probably* have more interesting goals.
