I suspect this may be a case of YMMV. You giving free advice to a CEO of a company you've already qualified is probably far more useful than most HNers handing out free advice, since the mode case probably involves non-decision-makers at unqualified companies.

Giving away knowledge has a few benefits: 1) doing it is the hard part; 2) makes it harder for strategists who charge a ton for knowing a only a little more than their clients.
