I have to do a bio for the book. Which is extra scary. And I’d love your help. Is “international keynote speaker” — while true — too pompous? What else should I put? They won’t let me talk about wine or my mastery of GIFs...pic.twitter.com/pFlVOdzoTk

Patrick McKenzie @patio11This is a thing which I've also seen in applications for investment and by job candidates. We socialize to avoid "bragging" / "tooting your own horn." Many people overcorrect against this. There was a period where my answer to outside-of-industry folks on "What do you do?" was exactly "CEOs of software companies fly me out to places like $INTERNATIONAL to help them sell more software." specifically because CEO and international are status-loaded.

(Two cents: I'd probably avoid leading with "keynote speaker" unless I was in the business of delivering keynote speeches. But after one understands what one actually does, as another indication that savvy customers would choose you over a world of options? Sure, absolutely.)
