If I were to get a job again, I would choose remote even if it paid 50% less than an equivalent on-site offer. Not exaggerating. I would consider that a good trade off.

I feel like supporting remotes as first-class citizens of engineering organizations will be approximately as uncontroversial among desirable engineering employers in 2024 as git is now.
