Among other causes, if you have the audacity to say that you care about it and want to solve it (even for a small group of people), people will fire-in-their-eyes hate you for that.

Imo, it’s the main reason people reject change in the workplace. It’s not that they are opposed to change per se , but it threatens the mundane status quo that many employees have crafted around them to have a sense of purpose. Change needs to provide new purpose to succeed

I would say its the opposite when you have strong purpose you want to have equity. Equity without purpose is less interesting. Esp that equity has low value early on.
