Oh the basilisk people. Ok. I’ve found a similar thing very useful: “I realize that I am angry” or “I realize that am afraid.” I never said it out loud though. I’ll try that. And noting surprise.

(Though now that I think about it, "Huh. I'm angry." might be a better characterization of the affect. I suspect it matters.)
