Also adjacent on two sides to single-family residences, which is a no-no, and presumably if we were proper SFians we would ourselves have fought like heck against the 450 door building 3 city blocks away.

Pretty sure that SF's zoning laws wouldn't accept the two light industrial factories, two convenience stores, and one milk bottling plant in my residential neighborhood.
