Social class is so interesting. What book teaches you what EOD means in an email?

Length, cadence, expectation that email from A to B demands a reply, expectation that non-reply from B permits or bars follow-up from A, salutation, differences with standard (hah) English grammar, the *incredibly* fraught question of Things You Must Not Say In An Email, etc.

“Things you must not say in an email?” The easiest example of this, drilled into the professional class and as natural as breathing, is that every word in substantially every email can be subpoenaed and will probabalistically be recoverable almost indefinitely.

Thought about this today when I saw “Would you please” in an email. Shots fired!
