When you're talking to a user [+] play it less like a conversation and more like an improv session: whatever they say goes. "Yes, and?" Don't correct them; don't explain how the product works; don't feel the need to be the expert.

This also works well as a pedagogical approach. I used to help older folks learn how to use their Macs and I never gave a direct correction for “wrong” terminology. “Let’s work together so I can understand the problem in terms of your worldview”
