SaaS co's focused on SMBs that raise >$15m in VC will get pulled inexorably toward the center of revenue gravity that is enterprise. Bootstrappers can win by nailing product for SMBs venture-funded co's can't afford to serve.

Yeah but in the beginning those VC funded startups make life tough for the bootstrappers. Why go with a solopreneur when there's a co with capital?

Approximately no SMB thinks this way or would be capable of making the determination which of two options had capital if they thought that way. Try the office manager test: ask if $BRAND was funded and if so how much at your next visit to e.g. a dentist.

SMBs do think the way of “X is the same but cheaper” which venture can potentially provide in spades

My sense is that venture-backed B2B SaaS co's have actually gotten super aggressive on higher pricing these days. Don't see many using VC $s to undercut on pricing. I think pretty soon @patio11 can declare victory on the Charge More campaign.

I think you are right unless that SMB is a venture fund or tech startup 🤣

They may not view it that way, however it would be ludicrous to suggest that SMB owners won't ask you, "Oh so this is like Square?" (or some other well promoted comparable service).
