It's tough to talk about money in open source, but problems like maintainer burnout and lack of diversity have a lot to do with money. We do a lot of writing. But when I think about it, the only sure way I know to learn the lesson is to take the lumps. I hold out hope there are wiser folks out there who can just read the writing on the wall. I didn’t.

This thread coupled with Havoc’s post reminds me of a definition of burnout I heard a couple of weeks ago... “When the demands placed on you exceed the resources available to you”
