I would really really really like to know if any company has actually run the numbers on whether the operational benefits from "Select traffic light" CAPTCHAs are worth the real customer pain they impose, particularly for paid services.
Or, equivalently, anyone building an experience which used the $FOO network as a dumb pipe without paying through the nose for bizdev. (You can imagine the possibilities for someone to make an app that very creatively abused 50 accounts to service 10k MAUs.)

“Install NoNickleAndDime and for $100 a year Wifi always just works.” (This is an actual thing in China, IIRC, largely by using a crowdsourced database of wifi passwords, but you could bootstrap it just on hotel/airplane/etc wifi for biz travelers.)
