I'd add disability insurance. Getting hit by a bus doesn't necessarily kill you.

Idk about “just term”. Depends. My children will have costs associated with handling my estate. I have whole life to help cover immediate expenses. I also like the ability to use it as a tax shelter in retirement (I’m in Canada). Also a believer in disability and critical illness

As a biz owner insurance can help with estate transfer, survivors buying out biz partner if one exists, with whole life you can borrow against your policy and not worry about paying it back. The investment portion returns aren’t meant to compete with the market. WL can be a tool
