I did 4 years of theater. Not being fazed by talking and presenting in front of strangers is such a huge career advantage that it exposes systemic biases in how we evaluate people for roles.

I took improv classes, for fun... And it turned into a whole avenue of much more interesting work than just IT. Not as valuable to the bank balance, but hugely valueable to my soul. The fact it's helped with paid work is a bonus.
