“I think you’re underestimating how deep a field real estate in.” My father was in it his entire career, and I respect the depth, but it’s easier for software people to identify, hire, and manage real estate expertise than vice versa. (Or that would be my bet.)

Would this work? 1. Build the software internally (as a secondary business unit to the REIT) to dogfood the product. 2. Use this “skin in the game” as their marketing pitch that differentiates from most startups (e.g. we use this software to run our core REIT business)?
