Except on climate, where people are constantly being distracted by minor mitigations while scientists scream louder and louder.

Hopefully one day also #climatechange will be solved quietly. But today is just a risk we can’t take. Also, like Trump, we like beautiful air! We can only hope scientists are wrong, but it is suicidal to ignore the experts.

This is both a decent observation and literal survivorship bias. Many towns in N. America over the past several centuries received news of visitors from overseas bringing death. Many if not most of those towns were completely eradicated by disease before Europeans even arrived.

And, arguably to the trajectory of #FinTech @patio11. Disruptive today, five years down the road small people applying tech to fin bringing millions of individuals and small businesses not currently served by the industry onboard. #thefutureisbright

Tweeting that science has “permanently” beaten ebola from that story seems like a mirror of the same effect.

Ah yes, the “hordes” who heed overwhelming scientific consensus and would like to avoid a massive global catastrophe. Just unwashed masses, reading science and urging good policy.
