A hill I will die on: The phrase "TL;DR" is anti-intellectual and not a valuable part of Internet culture to invite into professional spaces. Try "Executive summary" or "Summary"; these produce value and don't discourage the creation of it by suggesting that folks write less.

Want to make I understand correctly. Is it they you specifically don't like the *term* "TLDR", but these other words are substitutes? Or do they mean something different to you? In other words, is it the label or the package it refers to that you don't like?

I think that in this case the label you choose causes people to use the package very differently. It’s primarily about the downstream effects of the TL;DR label, although I’ll also admit to extreme aesthetic distaste for it even if no one was affected by it.

Seems like semantics? But I might be interpreting it wrong

I may be misunderstanding this, but are you saying it’s more professional to ask for a “tweet-sized version”? TLDR doesn’t bother me personally but that would at least get a raised eyebrow.

A tweet-sized *version* is essentially TLDR. A tweet-sized *summary*, that's another thing

I just learned the word précis yesterday. Look at it popping up everywhere.
