The poker player in me can't resist saying that "Fold the hands that you don't think you'll win with" is suboptimal play, because of factors like e.g. expected value of the hand relative to amount to continue playing.

Maybe "Particularly when you're new to the game, there is a temptation to playing far too many hands. You're better off folding all weak and middling hands before the flop from most positions and getting good at playing your best hands well. Once you're better, increase range."

Interestingly there is also a poker analogy "As your stack gets deeper you should be less discerning about which hands to play because some speculative hands have more value when they connect." but that may not apply to social media because of highly asymmetric payoff to bets.
