Consulting was a turning point from my being a total cheapskate to valuing my time more properly. That explicit $/hr rate helped me see opportunity cost, e.g. of a slightly cheaper flight with a long layover vs a flight for $100 more that saves me 10 hours and sleep deprivation

I was asking you bro (I kid, I kid). I hear you on some of these, on others I'm not so sure, obviously the $150K one day party or english degree is bad. A car and house are where you spend most of your time outside of work (where you can't control the environment).
