Lillian helped me get one of our suitcases an incredible distance for a four year old to the Kuroneko delivery counter. “OK Dad where next?” “These people are going to take it to our home in the morning.” “NICEST PEOPLE EVER.” (「なんて偉い人なの?!」)

Kuroneko is approximately as efficient between any two addresses in Japan, and almost all Japanese hotels will happily handle the logistics for you.

Do they integrate well with hotels? (e.g. deliver to the front desk and send you an email saying they've dropped it off?)
-
For major hotels you're better off using a limousine bus. E.g. https://www.limousinebus.co.jp/en/

Interesting, thanks for the tip! (My one previous visit, my flights were thoroughly off-peak, so the trains were almost empty, but if I ever go again I'll try to remember this!)

Limousine bus direct to your hotel front door is pretty awesome too. In your case I agree kuroneko service is the winner.
