The fact that there is no credible non-social capital way to enforce sharing information/document with someone and knowing they won't share it (or some summarization of it) with others has huge second order impacts on the shape of our information flows.

I also tend to believe the big version, one version of which is "Every interesting fact about the world has been discussed by collaborators/peers/counterparties over coffee, drinks, and dinner, sometimes at material length, and those conversations dwarf all formal knowledge."

Yes I believe in this too. The optimistic way to look at this is that we are sitting on one of the largest untapped sources of value in world, and are at 2% efficiency. Just need to understand how to decrease the friction and align the incentives

yeah, exactly. I think that all people anywhere close to this frontier are getting 80%+ of quality content from private memos/discussiosn now
