Here, I'll do that on Twitter: We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to migrate the financial system from using rails which replicate the flow of paper over SFTP to Something Else. Cryptocurrency is the Something Else that will win, because it achieves incentive alignment.

Within 20 years from now, substantially all payments between financial institutions will be backed by a movement on a blockchain. Databases and APIs will control movements within an institution. Blockchain networks will capture a small percentage of global funds flows i.e. $$$$$.
