(It doesn't feel intrinsically wrong to me to ask employers to e.g. post a bond for travel expenses. The outcome the government wants to forestall is "You hire N unskilled or semi-skilled laborers; you go under; we eat costs to repatriate and/or support.")

I can imagine all sorts of things in America, but talking about immigration policy on Twitter seems like a great way to attract the attention of people with rather less interest in selling software and rather more interest in mounting heads to spikes.
