It's amazing the difference perspective makes. Coming from Vancouver, one of the first things I noticed about Tokyo was that there were very few (to my eye) plants/trees in the city.

Interestingly, that is very not my subjective impression of Tokyo, but I think it heavily depends on where one goes.

My favourite thing is the forests they paint on the walls around construction projects; it's super dorky but actually quite nice. The port is a great example.
