People are currently speculating on whether, when the SEC says that ICO investors are entitled under the laws of the US to 100% repayment of their investment because they were solicited without required disclosures, whether that repayment will be denominated in USD or ETH.

(A put option is the contractual right to sell someone a thing for a particular price at or until a particular time. This is a thing you could hypothetically buy on e.g. Apple stock, and that would be very not free if the option effectively never expired and was at 2017 price.)

Not very easy to use that put option, first have to sue and then wait for SEC to handle the case. Of course the business assets have moved elsewhere when the SEC has handled it, if it is run by scammers.
