Got an email from someone in Japan, introducing themselves in an English fashion (given name first).
Can I reply with "Dear $name-san," or should I stick with the English honorific?

Thanks, I think I used the first name (I knew Japanese write last name first). I did find a post or two suggesting it was fine. Either way, I'm a foreigner, I'm expected not to know what I'm doing
