I think Fort Collins is a great tech hub, but there are likely more engineers in Colorado Springs.

There’s a foundation in Tulsa, OK that is offering $10k for remote workers to move to Tulsa. Just heard about it today.

I got laid off from the energy industry in Tulsa. Tried real hard to find another job there before finally caving and leaving the state. Funny that Tulsa's solution is to give up on job creation and import people who bring their own jobs with them.

I know Colorado Springs has a small team dedicated to that already, albeit not specifically for engineering departments. Formstack added an office and new hires here. It definitely seems like it should be a good investment to increase that department size though.

Someone could open up a consulting practice that does nothing but introduce the concepts of LTV/CAC to local governments for the application of luring tech companies.

There's an effort like this funded at both the municipal and regional level where I live, so my default assumption would be that this is actually very common.
