We don't (though aren't cast aside either); more worrying about OP is "no wide-open frontiers". That's prophesy, unknowable, and denies the creation of new knowledge. There are _so many_ things to improve; our descents will - like us - have more opportunity than their forebears

Millennials' tastes, choices and perceptual ideas will have a predominant influence on the shape of media, design and even governance, for sure. The underlying infrastructure is not theirs and it's out of their reach. They are happy bees in a flower garden.
