I support this both being a thing for Slack and also some sort of internal whatis tool which given a codename, project, metric, or similar immediately returns the definition and the link to the canonical document.https://twitter.com/destraynor/status/1058794203638063105 …

A cool @SlackHQ feature would be to generate an editable glossary of company-specific lingo and acronyms frequently used. It would let new hires get up to speed a lot faster without unintentional & inconvenient speedbumps (e.g. “what does JTBD mean” etc.)

And *sigh* this is me publicly committing to a pull request as soon as I have some time free.

You can hack it with a slackbot autoresponder triggered by eg "KPI?" "LTV?" without writing any software

The MVP for this is a simple Glossary-page on the company wiki. Takes an hour to bootstrap.

Just got sent a version of this to review for our new hires and the amount of lingo we have just about lunch spots alone had me cracking up.

We suggested it for last week’s Hackathon. Let’s build it!

We’ve done this @Smartsheet with a bot looking it up in a sheet, even let’s you then request a term if it isn’t currently known, works really well

I actually built an MVP version of this using just a word replacer Chrome extension and a master list in a shared spreadsheet. http://arthur-johnston.com/essay/2016/07/12/word_replacer.html …
