Incidentally, while I think Silicon Valley gets it right that you can have incredible impact very early by picking the right things to work on and doing as best as possible as fast as possible, there are a *lot* of strategies which work if they include "and then do it for 10+ yr"

(I don't know if you'd call things a strategy if they weren't necessarily planned, but then again almost every strategy which works is an emergent behavior which was retroactively described as a strategy then doubled down on several times intentionally.)
