I took my family to Disney for Lillian’s 4th birthday and the smiles on all the kids there remind me that there is a titanic gap between “artificial” and “fake” in a way which is underappreciated.

Disney is to myths and legends what a floral garden is to wild flowers.

The consistency of the experience and customer service and detail at Disney is amazing. The degree to which every "cast member" is bought into the façade is incredible. Every girl is a "princess." I use a wheelchair and it was my "chariot." This detail blew my mind:pic.twitter.com/PnunKmqOq2

If you haven't been to Anaheim, do. Florida is very nice, but you can tell that Walt was still alive when the Anaheim park was built - it's a different world in terms of attention to detail.

@doctorow Wrote a book I'm reading "down and out in Disneyland" : a future with no money (everything is reputation based) and the job of the protagonist is maintaining Disney Rides). So in the far this character's world revolves around a Disney Ride.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
