Yeah, my experience in this regard was depositing a check for slightly under $10k, the clerk accidentally hitting the "paying out as cash" button and fixing it by following up with a second "depositing cash" transaction, and me saying "good thing this was under $10k".

I did something like that once, very quickly became clear that it was a mistake - was able to get out of it by explaining my clients include financial institutions, so I had to take regular AML training. Situation defused once we started joking about bad compliance training.
