Similarly for choice of hotel/flight: I totally agree with not wanting to debate that with anyone, but the great news is that *nobody* wants to debate choice of hotel with their employer, and so very few travel policies will say "You are only allowed to stay at..."

(But for the clients who had a corporate account at the hotel a block away, yeah, sure, happy to make things easy and low stress for everyone.)

Need to think on that. I often work remote but wrap travel into things like onsite workshops. Travel separate but flat rate for when they need me onsite for specific reasons. No friction. You are suggesting wrap it in this case as well, correct?

I mean, whatever works! Things get situational! My travel was sporadic; maybe 20% at peak.
