That's a good point.
@levelsio 's MakeBook suggests that patronage worked well for him as a transition strategy when he was starting out. On the other hand, it's possibly made worse the problem you describe w.r.t.@NomadList . -
False, donations never ever worked for me. I did write about patronage as an example of a way to monetize, never did it succesfully myself, always charged for product
