I should Patrick Mckenzie™ this to "clarify": There is a > 0 subset of workers who choose to de-risk office politics by willingly participating in many meetings as a safer way to spend working hours than attempting to get Real Work™ done.

I think this is a more trenchant observation than the original: “Some people are not productive” is true but not insightful. “Some people intentionally avoid work which could be measured because of political risk” is insightful (and, if true, an indictment of their orgs).
