They say the next generation is going to put us all out of work, but I'm standing outside a daycare and watching them struggle to put on shoes so I'm not worried

There’s walls in ML, but not in this sort of disambiguation. Temporary artifacts, based on weak feedback channels. Think more about the same annoyingly difficult classification problems real people face, where yes, it does have to choose the world our kids have to live in. Hmm.

The work problem is that every time business has a problem, it may well decide either it can hire a programmer or it’s not a problem. Like a lot of tech decides not to charge for services at all, lest they have to sell to or support anyone. Which creates the feedback problem.

Unlikely to be any ML there. The dictionary won't be populated based on location, and you have it set to English right? Their edit distance probably goes Ha/Ah is a swap , m/n are adjacent and phonetically close, ed is a match, a/s are adjacent.

Phones and browsers are bizarrely bad at decoupling location and language. I've always found it bizarre that technology built in California would make that mistake.

Love this and totally agree, I see self-driving working best and repetitive tasks that are easy to mathematically model working best. I still think human/ml together is the best combo.

I think this might be related to the issue of the Google homepage not localising correctly for English speakers in Japan. Welcome to being an edge case.

You clearly haven't been to Tokyo in a while Jim. There are plenty of white people to go around.
