Maybe I'm just a weirdo (my wife is an architect and does lots of B2B stuff, plus I do purchasing for my HOA board) but your constant assumption that software people are complete idiots when it comes to business doesn't mirror my reality.

I feel like there are a lot of life paths and skill trees that get one into being a software person but I feel fairly comfortable, on the basis of many interactions over a decade, that I’m not slandering the part of the community I heavily identify with.
