There are many great things about Japan that you might like. One of the things that I enjoy the best is a well-run bureaucratic process. I spent two and a half hours yesterday at the ward office. Everyone was friendly, competent, patient, and highly communicative.

If it were me on my own we would have easily cleared 30m. Two and a half hours was required for all of the above for me personally, plus Mamiko (who had lost her nenkin techo), plus the boys, with half our documents missing and multiple errors in filling out forms on our part.
