Foreigners in
Japan have challenges unlike any other place:
- You can’t rent an apartment on your name (you’re a foreigner!)
- You can’t get a mobile phone subscription (did you remember you’re a foreigner?)
- Japanese politics is right-wing and explicitly against foreigners

Japan is better for digital nomads to hail from than hove to. Adventure abroad, recover in Tokyo.

I honestly have no clue how I'd survive in Tokyo if I didn't know any Japanese before arriving. If you stay in tourist popular areas, you'll be fine, but once you get to stuff like dormitory rent, you'll be in trouble. All the documents were in Japanese only.

2 European guys and I were the only foreigners in the dormitory at that time, but still. It's Tokyo. Don't even ask how bad it is without Japanese if you go to rural areas.
