If I were Amazon I’d be SQLing up a storm then pitching apartment complexes on “We will pay for a delivery box system for you and pay $1 for each successful delivery to it. Your tenants will love it. Estimated revenue per month: $642.”

Do you mean the convinis have this system? Or some of the "mansions"? I am still figuring out how the logistics of these things work around here.
-
Conbinis generally just keep packages behind the counter (interaction with staff required to receive them). The automated lockers are in apartments/condominiums (mansions).

Interesting. We had an Amazon delivery box at my old complex, and it was very convenient. It was such a simple idea but it felt futuristic too. But how does the revenue work in your tweet? You're thinking that even with a $1 fee to complexes, and building, Amazon would profit?

I think they would *print money*. Decreases delivery costs by at least 30% (failed deliveries / redeliveries) and let’s you move customer expectations to “Get it from box” rather than “real-time at door is default.”

I would also order more if they picked up the boxes like udon delivery does.

We already have USPS pods in my neighborhood where the real mail and UPS "mail innovations" packages go. I assume Amazon pods are just a big data trigger away.
