A thing someone told me which resonated a bit, while I was in a low productivity funk: “In a way it is good news, because all the things that you presently see not getting done are the things that during high productivity periods you’re individually responsible for.”

I wonder if it's better to go with the flow and deliberately embrace low-productivity periods as natural rests. That is, no need to feel lousy. Just see this as permitting the next high-productivity phase.
