I wrote my first typed Ruby code this week (#sorbet) and, at the risk of hyping a project developed by the day job, it feels like the future.
It keeps the niceness of developing in Ruby but code gains the “If it compiles then it must be correct” feature of golang.

I really think the reason loosely typed or un-typed languages are so popular is because of the inability of many typed languages to handle partially-structured or unstructured data (e.g. json objects, user inputs) with good developer ergonomics.

In that case, you'd love to see
@CrystalLanguage. It's has very similar syntax to Ruby and has native typechecking + compiles to give speeds comparable to Go. -
