Very interesting idea, but seems like there are a number of gotchas: limited to ~25 people per year, Vermont is one of the highest income tax states in the nation, you have to live in Vermont :), $5k is for qualified expenses and not straight up cash, etc.

Agree on all the points, but there’s ~certainly a better way to run this program.

It may seem field of dreams-ish, but I think tech more than any other field is highly susceptible to “build it and they will come”. Tech workers want a metropolitan village atmosphere with good food and good atmosphere.
